Trusted adults are grown-ups who help us, keep us safe,

and treat us with respect.

They are responsible and make good choices when we are together.

We feel comfortable and valued with trusted adults.

My trusted adults are my parents and my mate’s parents because they keep us safe and healthy.

 

Who are your trusted adults?

When our feelings take over our mind and body,

it's hard to share our problems or concerns.

I want to be understood,

so I get ready to communicate by calming myself.

Going for a walk or doing Mindful Moves helps me balance the energy in my body so I can think about the right words to share.

I can ask my trusted adult to join me, too!

We can start a conversation about our emotions like this:

 

“I feel upset because of a problem with my friend. Can we talk about it?”

 

“I don’t know what I am feeling right now. Nothing has gone wrong but I still have a weird feeling inside of me.”

 

We all have a right to be heard.
